Child Portrait - Lola in Spring
Lola and I had so much fun at this little shoot, she just loves to have Mommy take her pictures. I am definitely hoping to do some Spring Mini Sessions this year, once there are blossoms out. I also have a large wardrobe and accessories available to borrow for any of my child portraits.
Happy 12th Birthday Liam!
Today is my oldest's 12th birthday, twelve years since I became a mom, twelve years since I was given the hardest job there is. Not hard because my kids make it hard, rather the opposite because I want to be the amazing mom they deserve. This young man makes me so proud for so many reasons, he has the biggest heart and I just love his passion and his enthusiasm for most things in life. He is so incredibly thoughtful, his dream someday is to build a school in Africa, where an even number of boys and girls could attend. He and I have had many deep talks and I always leave the conversation feeling so proud of his views of the world. Last night his dad was sick in bed with the flu so it was Liam and I in charge of checking all the cows, I loved every minute of it with him. He is already so knowledgable and a huge help to his Dad and I with the farm. Today is bittersweet, I'm so proud to see the young man he's becoming but wishing I could close my eyes and relive those sweet moments again.
Sweetlight Collective in Kentucky - Day 2
After just one day at the workshop I felt like my mind was just swimming with new ideas and inspiration, it made me realize how much I love being in a classroom atmosphere, with other artists. I always feel so energized and inspired by them and of course especially from Skye who is an amazing teacher. I wish more than anything that I could attend her workshop in Texas this spring, it looks like it's going to be AMAZING!!!
I was in awe of every perfect detail that Skye had planned out for the workshop. It was as if she had planned the whole thing specifically for me, like she's read my mind! Everything from the exquisite clothing and accessories and the stunning hairstyling (props to Eye Do Beauty on Location) to the ideal location, McGee House, it was all so thoughtfully and perfectly selected. The location was like something out of a movie, we just don't have magnificent old houses like that around here and the interior did not disappoint either, vintage wallpaper, beautiful moldings, vintage furniture, quilts and props everywhere. Then there were the angelic young models, so professional and talented, but also just as sweet and charming as can be, they melted my heart!
I learned so much from this experience and will forever be grateful to Skye for sharing her talent and wisdom with me.
Here is my work from Day 2 . . .
